Deadlines, Achievements, Worries

Look around yourself and try finding someone who is not worried. To be honest everyone worries. On the entire planet, there will hardly be anyone, if at all, rarest of the rare person, who will not be worried. Otherwise generally speaking everyone is worried. someone will be worried about getting hired, other will be worried about hiring someone, from owners of the corporations to employees to governments to citizens, richest of the richest to poorest of the poor, most intelligent to the dumbest of the dumb, rarest of the beauty to strongest of the men, everyone is worried about something or the other.

As there are so many worries inside us, instinctively our mind looks outside, for what? distractions. Distractions to keep our minds away from all the worries. As other things keeps our mind engaged we forget about our worries, but the respite is temporary. The minute we are own our own, worries seeps in, for most people, even while working, worries is a constant companion.

One of the most difficult things to do is to sit with oneself, alone. We constantly need someone  be it friends, girlfriend, wife, kids, family etc. to be with us, if there is no one then we will need TV or music or laptops or computers if nothing else books, magazines or paper etc. to read. Try asking some one to sit by himself, within few minutes or seconds he/she will start feeling uncomfortable, and would want to run away or escape. The reason being, we have tons of worries, and when we are by our self, we become conscious of our worries. Therefore, we constantly need distractions.

broadly worries can be divided into two things or we can say, worries are of two types. first type of worry is "this should happen, it shouldn't happen, that it does not happen" and second "this should not happen, it shouldn't happen that, it happens"

More the worries, more the stress level. Stress and worries gives rise to mental problems, people get depressed. The easy way to get an idea of rise in number of worries is to, look at the rising number of people getting depressed or depression related disorders. The entire quest of our lives lies outside as we avoid looking inside, the results of such quests is rising comfort level, i.e. advancements in modern science. The person earning 100$ a month is worried and someone earning million dollars a month is also worried. The reason for our life's quest was to make our life peaceful, happy & joyous journey. But even after working our entire lives to collect those comfort do we actually get to enjoy peace, contentment, and happiness.

Ask the richest of the richest, whether he is happy and satisfied and void of worries. You will notice that more riches the person has, more worried he will be. The point being, we know that, more rich and powerful a person will be more worried he will be, does this knowledge, mean something to us. To be honest it does not, because no one is ready to realize and accept this fact. Our hunger is inside but we look for solutions outside,As if more or better quality of something will fill the hunger inside. We constantly try to improve, invent, build more so that we can have more, but still the want will be standing at its original place, will be more intense, because whatever has been accomplished so far is not enough, still something is missing.

So should we stop running after money? That would mean, we won't have better houses, better cars, better connectivity, better luxury. Our reputation is on stake, our own worth in our own eyes and in the eyes of the others is at stake. In other words our ego is at stake, moving out will mean killing our ego, and that is like killing the self. What would we be, its scary to even think about.

One has to turn his/her quest in. The real battles are fought inside. We have to be conscious or aware about worries and think what is it that he/she is worried about. Whatever we have accomplished so far on the outside will not save us in the end. Everything that we thought was ours , will no longer be with us or ours. With time everything will end. What difference will it make in the end even if things does not turn out as we wanted. Will we become any lesser if no one knows about us or any bigger is everyone knows about us?  Once we learn to see through the illusion of our wants or worries, we will become happy where ever we stand no matter what our status or condition i.e. being happy without any worries. In other words not worrying about getting sick or getting old or dying. At all time, in all situations, to accept everything that happens, without any complains. In other words do things with honest heart and accept everything that life gives us, without worrying whether it is as we wanted or whether it is not as we wanted (always remember everything has its own life cycle, each and everything that is outside will end, including the body. Everything that grows in size, will reach its peak and then shrink and finally die, be it human body be it sun or moon or be it business or corporations be it kingdoms or governments be it small group like a family to a nation be it civilizations or tribes, none of outside things are forever). Humble down, don't be sacred of anything (you should not be afraid of other and neither should others be afraid of you), stop yourself from getting tempted (the minute you get tempted for more, you will be trapped in desires and wants and worries) , be honest & just in everything you do (don't let ego trap you in thought that "oh I m honest and Just, I am better than others" it will corrupt you). When you will let go of your grudges or complains and take your fight inside and start winning, you will start to find peace and joy and you will always be happy without the need of the company of others. i.e. in all situations.

(NOTE: I was listening to "Gyani Sant Maskeen Singh Ji's" explanation of "Shri Guru Granth Sahib" in his simple words and got really good insight into "worries" it was in 'Punjabi' so translated it into 'English' with limited skills that I have, and added some few of my own things. "Shri Guru Granth Sahib" is like a never ending treasure, wish I had the skills to understand it completely, would have been wonderful. Anyways when ever I will find something new will keep it posted
